Hey!
We have just wrapped up the third month of our open alpha. Last month, our targets were to complete Showa Parlor and the 1st and 2nd jobs for Battle Mage, along with our usual round of bug bashing.
April Progress:
We managed to hit all of our targets and even pushed a little further.
Showa Parlor:
Although we initially planned to update just the Showa Parlor, we ended up updating the majority of Showa to smooth out the level disparity among the Yakuza monsters. We also added more lore-accurate names and updated the Golden Emerald Earrings.
Before:

After:

Previously, these earrings only provided DEX/INT and W.DEF. We have updated the level requirement, and they now provide all stats. We made this change so the item is useful for all classes. We also gave it a slight boost to W.ATK and M.ATK, as we felt it needed the buff since it drops from a high-level boss.
Aside from the gear, we updated several quests and removed those that felt out of place following the level adjustments. We plan to add more content later, and we will update Mushroom Shrine to align better with the Showa level range. For now, we are happy with the area serving as a training zone for level 130+ characters.
Battle Mage (1st & 2nd Job):
We have been working hard on Battle Mage. We ran into some unexpected complications with auras, but we still met our goal of completing the 1st and 2nd jobs. We are seeing some minor bugs with the Aura, but we plan to iron those out soon.
Other Changes:
Outside of our main goals, we reduced the global drop rate for all scrolls except Chaos Scrolls. We felt the previous numbers were too inflated due to the sheer volume of scrolls dropped per monster, and this change puts them more in line with our vision. Additionally, we have updated the Katara to function as a shield.
Weekly Recaps:
For those who missed out, you can check the weekly updates from this past month below:
Goals for May:
We are really happy with our progress so far. Next month, I will be a bit busier than usual as I am starting a new job and traveling out of the country for a week. We are also building some internal tooling to make our development workflow easier. Here is what we have planned for the month:
Fast Travel: We had this targeted previously but lacked the right tools. With our new tooling, we can make this work more easily, so we are prioritizing it now.
Inventory Space Solution: We missed this previously due to the focus on AriantPQ, but I am making it a priority this month. It should also tie in nicely with a few other changes I am planning.
Thank you for your patience. We really appreciate your support.
