End of Week Feb 15th Updates

Hey!

 

We've spent our week addressing a lot of the critical issues as well as getting around to fixing some of the smaller bugs and missing features. This is what we've completed this week:


Server:

  • Fixed Legendary Spirit causing a disconnection
  • Fixed a few exceptions in damage over time and quests which were likely responsible for the lag that you experienced
  • Added a small fix to buff spawns on maps by adjusting how the minimum amount of monsters spawned works. I don't have a list of maps where this was improved but I can confirm that some maps near Ellinia saw improvements of ~30%. This is not a final solution and just a small tweak that I made for now.
  • Improved our GM commands to get more visibility about maps to better understand the issue behind mob spawns
  • Added flavor text for Ria and Gaga

  • Added shops to Doofus, Patricia, and Moodie (pet food merchants)

  • Fixed the warp portal in Omega Sector: Command Center

  • Fixed an exception that can occur with pet picking up items
  • Added a temporary fix for now so that characters don't get stuck on login
  • Added additional logging to debug the root cause of why characters can get stuck on login
  • Snowman now also spawns at Valley of Snowman
  • Fixed a bug with accounts getting stuck
  • Implemented disconnection of inactive connections
  • Fixed a bug where summons can sometimes cause a disconnect when attacking
  • Fixed a bug where Puppet can sometimes disconnect
  • Replaced a duplicate Barbarian Elixir in NLC Potion shop with Sorcerer Elixir
  • Adjusted prices of Barbarian Elixir and Sorcerer's Elixir to 1500 mesos
  • Updated Antidote Marble to drop 100% from King Sage Cat
  • Removed a duplicate drop Jr. Boogie Horn from Jr. Boogie 1
  • Removed a duplicate drop of Training Instructor Badge with no quest check from Jr. Necki
  • Implemented chalkboard
  • Implemented Miu Miu the Traveling Merchant
  • Added drop to Secret Master Soul Teddy
  • Increased Ilbi drop rates by 5x across all monsters
  • Fixed some potential concurrency issues with mob debuffs and mob skills

 

WZ:

  • Fixed the discrepancies in scrolls where the stats given doesn't match the description (this mostly affected 30% and 70% scrolls but some 100% scrolls were updated as well)

  • Fix the dialogue in The Wandering Alchemist Eurek's New Skill to mention the new scrolls he requires

  • Removed Spindle as we have no use for him

  • Updated description for Chaos Scroll to indicate it can only be used on accessories and indicating that it can do nothing (rather than worsen your item). Also open to suggestions for a new name for this item cause Chaos Scroll doesn't really fit anymore...

  • Removed Magic Scale, Wing Boots and Name Change from Cash Shop

 

Server/WZ:

  • Removed all scroll shops as we have no use for them since all scrolls drop from monsters

  • Updated quest "How to find friends" to introduce players to the World Chat system. For those who completed this quest, I have reset this so you can complete it.

Client:

  • PICs can now be typed in

  • Game settings are now stored in a new path particular to Astral and no longer requires admin privileges to read/write. Keep in mind, your previous settings are not carried over as your previous settings are generic and shared for all MapleStory server (across all servers and GMS). Inventory crash has been resolved.

  • Equips' item color and glow logic has been adjusted to re-weight speed/jump/W.DEF/M.DEF/HP/MP lower than before, so the glow to your item may change. Though, the stats on your equips are not changed

 

Web:

  • Added About Us page for our new players to learn more about us

 

Thank you all for your help with testing and sending in your suggestions. We're doing our best to stay on top of the bug reports and suggestions. Even if you don't see a reply on a bug report or suggestion, I'd like to assure you that we are reading them. Currently, our main focus has been fixing "game breaking bugs" like crashes, disconnects and major lag. After that, we pick bugs based on how many peolpe are impacted. If it feels like we're skipping something that you think should be picked up, it'll usually because we're also picking issues where we know what the issue and it doesn't require as much investigation. I know the spawn and drop issues have been a huge pain. We hear you! We'll look into them soon assuming nothing gamebreaking comes our way.
